Ive heard that you can train your guinea pig to go to the toilet in certain places by taking a handful of his litter and sawdust and putting it in a certain place. Then the guinea pigs can smell it and know its there own litter, and go to the toilet there. Is this actually true?

I don't know if this is true ^. But some pigs litter train themselves and just go in one corner so people just put a litterbox in that corner. If it works you'll probably still have poop everywhere 'cos they don't really care about that! Sawdust isn't a good bedding because the particles are so small and the pigs inhale them. Kiln - Dried Pine, Aspen or Carefresh are better bedding, though I don't think we can get Carefresh here Some people use Megazorb which is a horse bedding over here. I use fleece though and it's really good.

To potty train a guinea pig is kind of....well, nearly impossible. lol. But most guinea pigs poop and pee in a certain place in the cage. Usually, you just put a litter box in that place and your cavy will use the litter box....it works for most people. You can also put some hay in there to lure your piggy into it.

LOL! Bazil is such a little sweetie. :3 I just hope he didn't eat it afterwards...a pee covered lettuce leaf could cause problems...lol

aha! i dont think guinea pigs can ever fully be litter trained. party uses only the back coners for her... 'dirtywork' and is very clean, she wont sleep in her own "leavings" she will accutally move the whole pigloo to a clean space. quite entertaining! some pigs however do try to give you signs, (especially when there out of the cage.) party will make a funny squeaking nopise, and then get really restless, i know that this means she needs to go back in her cage and releive herself!!
