So, you've just got your new guinea pig, and you don't know what to feed him/her? well this Basic, Simple guide will help you.
What you can feed your guinea pig
Carrots Celery Lettuce ( not iceburg) Cabbage Parsley Swede Turnip Cucumber Melon Apple Pear Banana Broccoli Peppers.
What you can't feed your guinea pig
Iceburg Lettuce. any sweets or cake etc... Meat as they are vegetarians. Potatoes - I saw this on a few websites, your not allowed to feed them potatoes because they won't eat them anyway! they wont even nibble at them. Dairy Products Do not feed your guinea pig dairy products as guinea pigs are lactose intolerent, and they can develop kidney or bladders stones from them.

Just thought you should add this: Guinea pigs cannot eat tomatoes, as it can hurt their digestive track and cause diarrhea. Also, guinea pisg shouldn't eat cheese as dairy products can hurt their health. Just some quick info!

I feed my pigs a small tomato sometimes and they're fine - I wash out the seeds though. Fruits shouldn't be fed too often, maybe once or twice a week. By the way ~ Hi, I'm new =D

I read that tomatoes are fine as a once-in-a-while treat, but feeding them tomatoes for a part of thier main diet can harm them. Probably should have mentioned that...hehe

I thought I'd mention that Kale and Parsley should only be given once a week as they can build up calcium which in turn can cause Stones!
